President of Ghana Witnesses LiuGong Equipment Delivery

Accra, Ghana - On July 31, a grand ceremony was held at Independence Square in Accra for the official delivery of a large batch of LiuGong equipment to the Ghanaian government. This equipment will play a crucial role in the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), aimed at empowering local communities. Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo witnessed the delivery alongside Mr. Li Yaohong, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, various officials from Ghanaian government departments, Mr. Zeng Guang'an, Chairman and CEO of LiuGong, and Mr. Luo Guobing, Senior Vice President of LiuGong.

A total of one thousand units of engineering machinery, encompassing LiuGong's entire product range, have been delivered for the DRIP project. The machinery will be allocated to 261 districts across Ghana to promote socioeconomic development at the local level. To ensure a swift response to customer needs and guarantee the efficient operation of the equipment, LiuGong has established a call center and spare parts depot in Ghana, along with 16 regional service centers nationwide, offering professional services 24/7. Furthermore, LiuGong's commitment to localizing its operations in Africa will take another significant step forward with a planned collaborative initiative between LiuGong and local universities to cultivate talents in engineering and machinery maintenance.

In his address at the delivery ceremony, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo highlighted the role of LiuGong in the road infrastructure enhancement initiative, “Ghana is at a critical stage of rapid development. To achieve economic takeoff, it is essential to first address the key issue of infrastructure construction. The government’s procurement of a thousand units of LiuGong equipment has profound significance for improving transportation conditions in our rural areas and enhancing local livelihoods.”

According to Mr. Zeng Guang'an, Chairman and CEO of LiuGong, the presence of LiuGong in Africa dates back to the 1990s when the company came with the Chinese government’s foreign aid programs. So far, over 30,000 units of LiuGong’s equipment are in service across this continent, with numerous customers and major projects benefiting from LiuGong’s equipment and services.

As a company that places great emphasis on corporate social responsibility, LiuGong is actively engaged in public welfare and social sustainability initiatives. Last year, the Green Alliance Initiative was launched to support charitable projects in Africa. This year, the initiative commenced in South Africa, with plans for expansion into other countries on the horizon. This project aims to provide local residents with access to clean water, a fundamental necessity for a healthy and sustainable life for communities across Africa.

Prior to the event, Mr. Zeng Guang'an, Mr. Luo Guobing, and other senior executives from LiuGong met with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding LiuGong's business development in Ghana and shared their vision for future collaborations, further strengthening the close ties between LiuGong and the Ghanaian government.

Looking ahead, LiuGong is committed to increasing its investments in the African market. Subsidiaries and offices will be established in key countries to enhance relationships with local partners and build a comprehensive distribution network, thereby making significant contributions to Africa's modernization efforts.
